prActiZe, a multifaceted platform
covering fashion from A to Z
Wonne Scrayen [Belgium.1998] focuses on [re]curating fashion’s often normative narrative. With embodiment at the heart of [her] prActiZe, she questions if there is an alternative way of engaging with fashion, the art through which we navigate day.to.day life.
Holding a master’s degree in Art History [UGent], the visual memory she had come to rely on felt somewhat counter.intuitive once her research geared more towards fashion as embodied practice. A subsequent MA in Critical Fashion Practices [ArtEZ] allowed her both the time and space to [re]consider the notion of fashion.
prActiZe positions itself as a counterbalance to the [visual] blueprint nature of the current fashion template. Ultimately, to [re]claim agency for both garments as well as bodies - through self.curated work [single.handed], co.curated projects [hand.in.hand] and curated features on complementary practices [hand.out].
